Creeping Mold

Mold damages are more than an eye sore, they also affect our health.  This was the family room below the master bath upstairs.  Over time the tub slowly leaked, there was never enough water for the home owners to even notice it was leaking until they saw what they explained to be some type of shadowing in the beginning.  This is what their ceiling looked like when we were called in for an inspection.  Our manager took moisture readings of the affected area; of course the moisture levels were elevated.  From here we were able to open up the ceiling, remove the compromised sheet rock to include the insulation above in the ceiling.  We cleaned and treated the open ceiling cavity and joists. Drying equipment was placed and once dry we replaced the insulation, patched and painted the ceiling.  This homeowner took advantage of the situation and asked if we could install a ceiling fan for them while we were there.  We were happy to oblige.  This family room is now cool and mold free.
